So a friend of mine was singing these lyrics the other day,
“Love isn’t love if you didn’t hurt someone.” (It’s an Atmosphere song)
I was kinda like, “Oh, I don’t like that.”
And it started him in on this tangent.
He was like, “You can’t honestly sit there and tell me that love doesn’t involve getting hurt.”
We’re so trained to believe that our true love won’t hurt us. Hollywood has given us this perfect view of relationships, that if he hurts you, or you get hurt, that you turn and run in the other direction.
But he’s so right. If you haven’t gotten hurt, if you haven’t felt some sort of pain, it’s definitely not love.
I don’t know. Something to think about.
